Activity Recovery

During treatment sessions, our Physical Therapists and Personal Trainers utilize evidence-based modalities to help advance athletic recovery. These modalities include NORMATEC compression therapy, COMPEX neuromuscular stimulation therapy, and THERAGUN vibration therapy. Outside of scheduled private sessions, we also offer access to these modalities at our Recovery Lounge. Therapeutic Taping

IMPACT Physical Therapists are certified and highly experienced with several therapeutic taping applications. As part of your Plan of Care, your PT may assess that taping can help in your recovery.

We also offer Therapeutic Taping as self pay service. For $20, you can come in and have an Impact Physical Therapist apply the taping method that will best serve you for your injury and or sport

The Kinesio Taping® Method is a definitive rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion as well as providing extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy administered within the clinical setting. By targeting different receptors within the somatosensory system, Kinesio® Tex Tape alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting affect forms convolutions in the skin thus increasing interstitial space and allowing for a decrease in inflammation of the affected areas. “K-Tape” can be used in conjunction with a multitude of other treatments and modalities within the clinic and is effective during the rehabilitative and chronic phases on an injury as well as being used for preventative measures.

Cup Therapy

IMPACT Physical Therapists are certified and highly experienced with several therapeutic taping applications. As part of your Plan of Care, your PT may assess that taping can help in your recovery.

MFD stands for Myofascial Decompression, a technique that utilizes Eastern Medicine Tools (cups) and Western Medicine Research. MFD works to decompress adhesions and reduces the inhibition of fluids and nutrient exchange by applying negative, decompressive pressure to sites of increased tissue density. This releases tonic and tight muscles, increases the mobility of myofascial layers, releases trigger points, increased circulation and nutrient exchange, and mobilizes viscous ground substance.

The MFD Cups are placed by a Physical Therapist in regions that may restrict mobility and cause pain at the site or referred away from the site. This is usually complimented with active movements to further improve mobility into the functional range. A Cup Therapy session at IMPACT usually lasts about 30 minutes. The price for this service is $80.
